You've Got Pond Repair Questions? We HAVE POND REPAIR ANSWERS!
What are the most common causes of koi pond leaks in East Texas?
How do you accurately find a pond leak without draining the whole pond?
How much water loss is considered a pond leak versus evaporation?
During the hot summer months in East Texas, it is normal for a pond to lose about one inch of water per day to evaporation. Waterfall splash especially in direct sunlight is one of the biggest issues when evaluation of a leak. If your pond is losing more than two inches per day, it indicates a strong possibility of a leak requiring professional repair.
Can you repair a pond liner, or does it always need replacing?
What should I do immediately if my waterfall pump stops working?
If your pump stops, first check the electrical connections, fuses, and GFCI breaker near the pond, as these often trip. If the power is stable, call us immediately. Quick response is vital in the summer to prevent fish loss due to lack of oxygen. Often times we suggest buying an airstone system as an emergency measure. Installing air stones temporarily, or permanently can help keep your fish alive, even if the pump stops working.
Do you repair pumps and filters installed by other pond contractors?
What are the costs associated with professional pond leak detection?
Leak detection and repair are typically billed by the hour, as the time needed varies greatly depending on the complexity of the leak (water level, rock removal). We provide a detailed "estimate" after the initial inspection to ensure transparency before starting the repair work. If we notice the problem right away, it will usually be relatively quick to fix, maybe $250-$750 range. More complex issues will obviously be more involved. Steps to accurately diagnose pesky leaks can take multiple days and hours to reveal stretching into the thousands possibly. In some instances when you're chasing problems "ALL THE TIME"... sometimes it's cheaper to rebuild it then try and fix it!
